Well I supose I see something different in those scriptures than you do. I see encouragement of singing and praise of the Lord. What I don't see is any restriction or discouragement of other forms of praise. I think God would want us to use our skills and abilities, all of them, in praise of Him. If you have particular talent in say, the violin, but not singing, why shouldn't you be able to express your love for God that way?

That discussion is for another day I suppose. Mainly I really dont see anything in these scriptures that forbids or even discourages music. The simple fact that they are not mentioned specifically says little. I am surious what other "rules" you could find in the Bible using the same method? I know you have been raised with this ideology and I dont expect to change your mind, just something to think about. How is it you are making such leaps and bounds when it comes to this conclusion?

Musical instruemtns in the church dont bother or hinder me much personally, because I have no talent in that arena, but others might, and the principle does vex me. As always, I welcome further discussion and intellectual destruction heaped upon me.
