As Paul said at the end of Rom. 14, "...everything that does not come from faith is sin." This goes along with his earlier statement "if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean."

It's obvious to me from passages like the ones above that musical instruments should not be used in assemblies where those assembled regard the use of them as being "unclean".

What we need to work on, seems to me, is adherance to the first principles taught in Romans 14. Accepting our brothers, fellow believers, who are also acting in faith, fully conviced and able to stand for the Lord is able to make them stand.

I am not all wise, which goes without saying. So I still grapple with where the line is between "passing judgement on disputable matters" and "explaining the way of God more adequately" as Priscilla and Aquila did with Apollos. Obviously, the truth of Christ must be preached and known, for he is the only way to salvation. On the other hand I'm quite uncomfortable with those who use the pulpit to rail against fellow believers who are acting from faith. Priscilla and Aquila took Apollos off to the side, they didn't get up and call names like "so-called christians".

No, we shouldn't adopt practices in worship that would not be coming from faith. Nor should we use our assemblies to bash fellow believers.

One man's take on the matter.
