Dear Joannne, Don't let your nephew's fire go out on this one. Use this as an opportunity to study more. "Believe only" isn't applicable here because you say he was baptized already. He's made the confession and accepted Christ. The church's role is important, don't let that be diminished. Once a person is baptized, they need to get established with a congregation and if possible under Elders. I don't think you have officers yet but perhaps this is one of the things bothering your mother, that he didn't make if official by going forward and saying he wanted to count himself among you believers at Dana Drive?
