I have the same reluctance to "contrive" anything. I have a viceral dislike for organized "church planting schemes" that I've seen out there. Ultimately, I think the size of the group is what it is. I'm certainly not a believer in the "church growth" movement. But nevertheless, while I hold those opinons in an ivory tower sort of way, I have to come back to the reality that our group is still faced with a set of practical decisions that will eventually need to be made. And those decision can have a large effect on the intimacy of our group.
