Well, you are both reading far too much into my post, and giving me far too much credit for knowledge of the various sects and cults of Protestantism, many of which, I think you will admit, have similar names. My father's entire family, like most Welsh-Americans, were Congregationalists, which is today known as the United Church of Christ. This sect is VERY liberal, not even requiring Baptism; in fact, my father was baptized by my (Catholic) mother as he lay dying of a heart attack, waiting for the ambulance. The ambulance was too late, but the Baptism was not. When I lived in Tennessee, I knew many fine African-American Christians who were members of the Church of Christ headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee - or maybe it was the Church of God in Christ. I have a good friend who is a Untied Presbyterian pastor. He refers to members of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church as 'crazy people'. The latter church has a website with a discussion board where I occasionally leave messages which are probably about as well-received as those I leave here. I have no idea what the difference is between Evangelical Lutherans, Missouri Synod Lutherans, or any of the others. A long time ago, the then unknown, or very little known, Rev. Sun Myoung Moon was scheduled to give a speech in Chicago, and a radio announcer, thinking the phrase 'Unification Church' was a misprint, announced that the talk was being sponsored by the Unitarian Church. I saw the article elsewhere and thought it might be of interest to denizens of this board - there was no attempt to be confrontational whatever. Comparing such an innocent contribution to murdering Jesus is, I think, a little over the top.
