Some people will steal anything - I think there's a psychological factor here. Anyone who wants a Bible to read and cannot afford one can visit the nearset church. I once saw a stack of Good News Bibles on my pastor's desk. He told me that anyone who asked for one was given one. When I asked why he had chosen the GNB (hoping to start a good discussion on the merits of the various modern translations), he said 'two bucks'. 'What?', I asked. 'Two bucks', he repeated, 'when you buy a dozen or more they're only two bucks apiece.' Well, I guess that's a good reason for choosing the GNB, but it is a very good translation and I recommend it for everyday Bible reading. The clerk was right about the KJV - it's a great work of literature, but the archaic language is a hindrance to understanding. Also, we have much better sources today. Funny that she didn't have more different translations from which the customers could choose. Personally I've never heard of the Master Study Bible.
