Maybe I'll have something else to say on this later, but based on what I heard of that discussion, or one like it (a few weeks ago), I'll contribute that I don't think Ben said that God is a man (or a woman) but rather that God is properly referred to in the masculine (as He almost always is in the Bible). But God is neither a physical nor a sexual being. I also think the Father idea was related not only to the idea of creation (not procreation) but also to the idea of role, the kind of relationship God has elected to have with mankind, and in particular with those who turn to Him..
