I haven't been to a movie in years, however, we do check out a video from the public Library on occasion. Once in a while I get an R-rated movie by mistake and then I remember why I don't go to the movies! Fowl language, nudity, murder, killing indiscriminately so as to kill one person in particular. Murder for hire, killing by the government, and killing by very young children even. With no fear of retribution, just walk away. These are the things being taught by the film makers. It's OK to use this language and to do these things. Now, more that ever before, the portraying of lifestyles which God abhors, as being OK. Needless to say, there have been many videos returned, either not even viewed, or stopped shortly after beginning and returned to the library. No, we do not need the education that R-Rated films and videos provide us. Don't think that it can't affect you. Once seen or heard, it can't be erased - it's there, and it can influence us. |
