If the Diciples were first called Christians at Antioch....what had they done to make them so?

Mark 16:16 says " He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved. What if you were on a crowd of people and the speaker announced that he would give $1000 to everyone who believes and are baptized. What would you do to get the $1000?

Acts 22:16 says "And why tarriest thou? Arise and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord." How can you be saved before your sins are washed away?
