I believe philosophy is what got the Greeks in trouble. It doesn't measure up to truth, searching out things that our minds cannot grasp and probably should not try to grasp because God IS and has stated clearly for us who we should be and what our minds should contain. Josephus did some writing to them concerning that, "{We have already demonstrated that our laws have been such as have always inspired admiration and imitation into all other men, nay the earliest Grecian philosophers, though in appearance they abserved the laws of their own countries, yet did they , in their actions and their philosophic doctrines, follow our legislator, and instructed men to live sparingly and to have friendly communication one with another, nay farther the multitude of mankind itself have had a great inclination of a long time to follow our religious observances,}" Even the "great" philosophers recognized the power and superiority of God's laws to mankind. Charles probably has the web address of that article--"Flavius Josephus against Apion-book 2. Love is God, God is love, a few days in this world shows the superiority of that. Why settle for less?We know and seem to agree that God is good, however, what if God wasn't good? Would this be possible? If God were not good, would good be bad and bad be good? Would helping an old woman cross the street become a sin, and killing your neigbor good behaviour? And, Why is God good... What makes God good or Why should he still be good, there doesn't seem to be any particular reason for God to be one way or the other, yet he's good.
