The following is a recent e-mail from Bro. Roger Wanasen who serves the Lord in the Philippines. I hadn't followed the news the last couple of days, and didn't hear of the attempted coup in the Philippines. The reference to his wife returning home is because she was on Mindinao this past week, doing gov't work for the agriculture department. Mindinao is where the muslim terrorists have been most active, seeking the independance of that second largest Philippine island. The relative stability most of us still enjoy to follow our faith is peace and comfort should be prized. ____________________ My dear friend and brethren in Christ, By the mercy and grace of God we are all under His care. He is faithful with us according to His promises. We keep trusting Him and hoping that He will be coming very soon. Our problem right now is our economy. Everything went high due to the unstable status of our government. Last night the coup from the idealistic young officer in the Army was solve by negotiation and promises???. The number one international terrorist with two "Abu Sayap" was escape from the prison here in our country. I can’t just imagine how they were escape to their jail inside the headquarters of the Philippine National Police. Most of the investor here in our country was going out. I don't know what will be the next, I keep on encouraging our brethren to remain faithful to the Lord, I know this is just temporary because one of this day we will be home in our eternal home. Please pray for us and remember us always. Don’t you know that my family and I was not able to attend Sunday service in Lagro church? We are all disappointed! The government blocked all the roads going to Manila. When we can’t come in to Lagro, we decided to go in Macabebe but sad to say that when we are closed to the area, roads are also blocked. Our government was so afraid to the support of the people to join the Coup in Manila. I was even contacted by my former comrades in the Scout Ranger but I told them that I can’t join them, the only thing that I can offer is prayer. Brethren in different areas are busy repairing their houses destroyed by the super typhoon. I have a lot of schedule right now and I trust my Lord to help me and give me strength. God be with you all and I thank you to all your prayer and support. In His name I remain, Roman Roger Wanasen Servant
