Being in the church and being saved are synonymus. One book describes the church as a tower and each member , a stone in the construction of the tower. The stones that are strewn around the ground are no longer part of the building but have seperated themselves, and are useless, they are detrimental to the integrity and the strength of the building. The unity if you will, and the purpose. You can't have branches without the vine, neither can you have members of a living body that are not all connected to the head in unity and purpose.

How necessary is church in salvation?
