Col 3:15-17
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The Thanksgiving holiday has come again in America. It is mightily overshadowed with all the Christmas paraphenalia that has been in the stores for weeks already. In spite of the crass commercialism, and a widespread attitude of discontent with fear, anger, and economic uncertainty, most of us have a great deal to be thankful for, tomorrow and every day. Dwell on the goodness of God, and be thankful.

Heb 12:28-29
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our "God is a consuming fire."
