Hi ben I know that no 2 of us will ever agree on everything in the Bible. That is what is so amazing. We, the body of Christ, can individually be so different, yet all TRUE believers together make up one body, called the church. I respect your right to believe how ever you feel is correct for you. The main thing, is for each one of us to try our best to LIVE what we believe, or we are a liar to God and ourselves. As far as 1John 2:18 and 19 go, I don't know why you would bring that up. I do know very well that there are those who teach against the doctrine of Christ. To me, that is a form of antichrist (opposite or instead of christ). As for myself, I love the Lord Jesus Christ very much. I asked Him into my heart over 50 years ago. And His Holy Spirit has used me many times, of which those events are not necessary to bring up, because I know that everything was done by His power. Have you ever thought that there is a whole lot more of God's Word to be understood, than what is normally taught? I found that there are very many things. One VERY important thing, is a method of studying that I learned a long time ago, that clarifies a whole lot more of the Bible. It is to read the doctrine of Christ, and compare it with ALL the rest of the Bible, and then realize the rest of the Bible has to fit His doctrine, or we will misunderstand much of it. We can get into a lot of trouble if we hold to a doctrine that contradicts the doctrine of Christ (See 2 John 1:9-11). The best way I know to find out the truth about something in the Bible, is to see if Jesus said anything about the issue. I have found quite a few things that Jesus taught, that is not taught in many churches. In fact there are a few things some Christian churches teach that are totally opposite of what He taught. If you are interested in what these differences are, let me know. I would be glad to write you in private, or, if you wish, show them on this board. You see, it is not meant for all to understand. I can also explain this if you wish. I see so many things on this board to reply on, but I don't want to hog all the conversation. I think I have written enough for a while. I believe that is part of my problem. I get so excited when God's Holy Spirit makes something so clear (where it explains one of the so-called gray areas), that I want to share it with everybody. It is like a huge puzzle that keeps coming together, making the picture more and more clear. And yes, I know that IF we are hearing from the Holy Spirit, then everything we hear WILL AGREE with the doctrine of Christ, and the rest of the Bible. And, as I said in one of my previous comments, God's Elect are SUPPOSED to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God/heaven. That should be one of the reasons that gives us the desire to study a lot, plus to also be counted worthy. So if we don't already know the major part of God's over-all plan, we had better get to praying and studying with an open mind, for the revelation of His great mystery. You see, if the religious leaders were against Christ's doctrine, then God's Elect won't be well liked by very many of the religious leaders today, which can include many who call themselves Christians, but do not abide in Christ's doctrine, but just follow after certain church tradition and doctrine. My wife tells me that a person can catch a lot more fish with bait, than they can by throwing the anchor at them. I hope that you folks pray that God helps me to be a little more gentle. I don't mean to condemn any of you for what you TRULY believe. I just love to help people to not overlook ANY part of God's Word. Because, to me He IS THE WORD. May God bless all of you who truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, Who continues to give us all more understanding of HIS WORD. Louis
