In order to understand the “Gap”, we must first look up the word “heaven”, in Gen 1:1. In the Hebrew manuscripts, it is “hashamayim”. “ha = the”, “shamayim = heaven”. The word “shamayim” means; to be lofty; the sky, i.e. the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve. So the word “shamayim” can mean either the sky, or heavenly bodies. So here it is saying that the sky and earth were created in the beginning. The sun, moon, and stars were not created until the 4th day. At that time, God was the light. Compare to Rev 21:23; Rev 22:5. Next, in the Hebrew, there is a complete stop at the end of the sentence in verse 1, which completely separates it from verse 2. The word “And” would be better understood as an independent exclamation. Example: “[And THEN] the earth became a desolation and a ruin, and [destruction] was upon the face of the violently surging mass of waters.” This is the flood that 2Pet 3:5-7 is talking about. We should ask; “Who reads this in the Bible?” Most people who read the Bible are believers. So Peter is saying some people are WILLINGLY ignorant of this particular flood he is describing here. Why would it be a different flood? Because nearly everyone already knows about Noah’s flood. The reason they wish to remain ignorant of that 1st flood, is because it doesn’t fit their doctrine. They would have to admit that there was an age before Adam and Eve. Peter is also telling us of the 3 earth ages, if we read on through verse 13. The 1st earth age, of angelic existence, ended in Gen 1:2. We are now in the 2nd earth age, born into flesh, with our mind erased of any memory of the 1st earth age (Eccl 1:9-11). The 3rd earth age (eternity) will begin at the end of the millennium, after judgment day. I believe God placed us in this flesh age to give many of his children, who had followed after Satan in that 1st earth age, a chance to turn back to Him, instead of sending all of them to hell with the devil. I also believe that God planned for all His children (except archangels) to come through this flesh age, an age of corruption. The good to help fulfill the positive part of His plan, and the bad to fulfill the negative part of His plan. The destruction of that 1st earth age can be found in Jer 4:22-27. Notice Jer 4:23; “the heavens, they had NO LIGHT.” There was no light in the heavens yet, because God had not yet created the sun, moon, and stars. They were not created until the 4th day. Compare the light and darkness of Gen 1:3 (Satan being the darkness, and God being the light), to Rev 21:23; Rev 22:5. Darkness is referring to evil, and light to good: Prov 2:13; Prov 4:19; Isa 5:20; Isa 50:10; Isa 58:10; Matt 6:23; Luke 11:34; Luke 22:53; John 1:1-14; John 3:19; John 8:12; John 12:35,36,46; Acts 26:18; Rom 13:12; Eph 5:8-14; Eph 6:12; Col 1:12,13; 1Thes 5:4,5; 1Pet 2:9; 2Pet 2:4; 1John 1:5-7; 1John 2:8-11; Rev 16:10. Next, in Jeremiah 4:25, the word “man” means human being, i.e. flesh and blood. Notice that there was NO MAN. In Noah’s flood there were at least 8 people who survived. Jeremiah 4:26; the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by His fierce anger. Yes, there were cities at the time of that destruction. Jer 4:27 “For thus HATH the Lord said (past tense), the whole land shall be desolate, yet will I not make a full end.” And He didn’t make a full end at that time. He does that at the end of the millennium, when nothing remains corruptible. At that moment, there is no need for time. Even the incorruptible are granted immortality (are granted eternal life, i.e. resurrect = stand up again), and everyone is ever present, in an eternal existence, as we once were, when God first created us. Compare John 10:34-36, which verse 34 is a quote from Psa 82:6. Also see John 3:13, and compare to Matt 17:3, and remember Moses died (Deut 32:50; Deut 34:5-8; Josh 1:2). So in order for Moses to appear in the heavenly realm (kingdom) with Elijah and Jesus, it shows us that he had to come from that realm. And Jesus said “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the son of man”. All the rest of the words of that verse were added, they are not in the manuscripts. Also, check out the meaning of the word “again”, in born again. It means “from above”. John 3:3 and 3:7 are the only places in the entire New Testament where the Greek word “anothen” was wrongly translated to AGAIN. If we understand this the way it should have been translated, then we would notice that we were all born from above, i.e. we all were all made lower than an angelic existence by being clothed with flesh. Compare 2Cor 5:1-8. Isaiah 45:18 tells us of that 1st earth age that was created for all God’s children, angelic beings, to live on with those flesh and blood animals, of which most are now extinct from the destruction of that 1st earth age. See Job 40:15, to see that the behemoth (dinosaur) was made to be with Job. I believe that was when Job was an angel. Of course, in most churches it is a no-no to say that we are the angels. All the species of the dinosaurs, along with all the rest of the animals, could not have fit into the ark, even though the ark was about as large as 56 railroad boxcars. Yet remember, God told Noah to take 2 of every flesh into the ark. The reason Noah didn’t take dinosaurs aboard the ark, is they were already extinct by the end of the 1st flood, that ended the 1st earth age. Ezek 28:12-19 lets us know that there was trade going on (vs. 16,18) before the devil, who was adorned with all the jewels of a priest (vs. 13), became evil and lost his job as the cherub (being the high priest) that covered God’s throne. In order for that to happen, the time element had to be before Adam and Eve. The main reason the devil lost his job as the cherub that covereth, was that he wanted to take over God’s throne (Ezek 28:2). Isa 14:12-16 lets us know of the fall of Satan, and a time when he WILL sit on the mount of the congregation, on the sides of the north (Jerusalem; compare Psa 48:2 and 2Thes 2:4). Luke 4:8; Jesus told the devil to get behind Him, and at this time Jesus is in the heavenly realm (kingdom). So the devil, who at this moment is standing behind Jesus, has not yet been kicked out of heaven by Michael and his angels, in Rev 12:7-13. Why? Because in verse 12 we find the 3rd Woe. And if the 1st and 2nd Woes have not yet happened, then neither has the 3rd Woe happened yet. Another thing we should ask is; how could we RETURN to the Lord, if we had not already been with Him? See Eccl 12:7. Compare Jer 1:4,5; to see that God is telling Jeremiah that He knew him before He placed him in his mother’s belly. There are many more places that verify the “Gap fact”, and show that we are the angels of God. Remember, if we are the Elect, we are supposed to know the mystery of the kingdom of God/heaven. So in order to learn God’s over-all plan, we had better start studying all the harder, with an open mind, and check everything out that we hear someone else say, instead of reading the Bible to make it fit our, or someone else’s, understanding. |
