No, saying that God cannot do the irrational, the self-contradictory, is not limiting his power or ability. Making a square circle or making 2+2=17 isn't a matter of power or ability. How much power or what ability makes a square circle? The old connundrum on this topic was posed as, "can God make a rock so big he can't move it?" To see that as a paradox is to misunderstand the meaning of omnipotence. God cannot do what is self-contradictory. There is a reasonably good discussion of this at the link below, and rather than belabor it I'll refer to that.

Meanwhile, I didn't say "free will and always choosing right are mutually exclusive." I said, "... free-will but no possibility of wrong choices" are mutually exlusive categories. Jesus always chose right, but that only had meaning because he could choose wrong, and did not. You can't choose right if there is no alternative. If there is no alternative there is no choice, there is no free-will.
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. NIV
