In fact, it is a very good reason to stay away from content that immerses us in carnality, immorality, and profanity. In the same passage where Jesus talks about "idle words" he also talks about what we have "stored up" inside us. What we take in is "stored" for future reference, it shapes us and influences us forever.
Matt 12:35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. NIV"Even within the context of redemption though, it is from the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. Where our treasure is, there our hearts are also. What we say reflects our real values, what really matters to us"
I agree with the above statement. Isn't that statement a very good reason to stay away from most videos, movies and televison shows.
